I used this to clean solar panels. The brushes appear soft, so I felt confident to use them on my panels.Last time I cleaned them in mid spring, I used a pressure washer from a ladder (they're on the roof), and the panels got cleaner but not at all fully clean. This time, as a test of this water pole, I cleaned only half the panels using the pole from a ladder, and since I have individual monitoring of each panel, I can see that cleaning them with this pole increased solar production by ~8% compared to the ones I didn't clean. The cleaned panels look black, except for a few light spots where I missed, whereas the other panels have a dusty brown appearance.I have 18 panels, so 8% is just under 1.5 panels worth. I'm very happy with this pole: it is effective and relatively easy to use.On the downside:When I got the brush head tightly screwed on, the extension adjustment levers were on the bottom -- still easy to use but these can hit the edge of the panels while brushing back & forth. So, I did figure out how to rearrange the head to orient the levels toward the top instead, but that did take some thought.The kit does not come with the female hose quick disconnect. These I could not find at a local hardware store, but they appear available on Amazon, if you want to buy a multi-pack (only one is needed). For this price range, this kit should include proper female matching garden hose quick disconnect, instead of sending purchasers chasing for it.The kit also does not include a mechanism to introduce soap into the water stream, which would be better than just cleaning with water. I suppose these can be attached, but again why not complete the package at this price point. I sprayed lots of water before initial scrubbings, so at least the surfaces wer thoroughly soaked.If it were me, I would probably include an extra 5-6 ft of water line, b/c when you're on the ladder it can be awkward to do the brushing motion at full extension since most of the water line is then inside the pole. Some extra feet would help with that, though the alternative of adjusting the length of the pole more frequently does work. Those that don't want that extra length can simply trim it from the end without attachment.I think it works well enough for the price paid. Don’t buy this for your window washing business. But if you’re looking for something to use a few times a year on your own house, this will do well for you. The aluminum definitely bends when the pole is extended. So using it up high takes some strength to tame a wobbling pole.Definitely get an in-line deionizer (purifier) to attach between your hose and pole so you don’t get water spots dried onto your windows. (I bought the WaterSentinel SF-20W here on Amazon and it worked well).Also- this does not connect to your hose out of the box (annoying). You will need to buy a garden hose 3/4 inch quick connect coupler. I found a two pack on Amazon for about $10.The aluminum pole (30 ft) when fully extended bends a lot and is hard to stabilize even for a bigger guy like me. You have to buy an addition adapter to fit US garden hoses.You really need to get on the roof for this product to even be remotely effective. I would not recommend. It’s better to invest in better equipment or hire the job out.Kind of BS !! I bought everything for the job and pole kit in not complete !!Product is very sturdy and easy to assemble. The water connection fit normal quick-connect fitting on the hose.Only used a few times and the bracing broke.You will need to buy a female quick connect hose attachment to use the product. This is not usable out of the box.I tried to clean my solar panels but it sags too much.
