I bought one of these in 1995 for.my remodeling business. I ran stick nailers, coil guns and various trim guns over the years. It worked so well for so long that when it came time to replace it I bought another. If you have a need for a dependable, affordable small compressor, this is the product to buy.I’ve only owned this compressor for aBout a week. Today was the first day I could really check it out. I did break it in on Wednesday with the drains open. There are many things I like about this compressor out of the box. Size, quick recycle time, controls.Unfortunately there are two things I’m disappointed in.1) it’s not as quiet as I had hoped for. I am replacing a porter cable 6 gallon pancake, in large part because of the noise it makes. This one is quieter, but not nearly as much as I was expecting. I’m getting over 80 decibels at 10 ft. In my garage (The porter cable is well over 90)2). When I went to open the drain valves today after pressurizing the tanks, I noticed that the lower drain was releasing very little air. I had opened it first. 135 lbs in the tank and I could stop the airflow with my finger. Opened up the upper drain and it blew hard as expected.I pulled the lower ball valve drain and much to my surprise I found it completely packed with teeny tiny steel shot. If you look at the photos I’ve posted you can see that the valve (which is in the open position) is completely blocked. The second photo shows all the shot I collected from not only inside the valve but off the floor from where it ran out when I took the valve off.So basically, I had a non functioning drain - and since it was on the bottom tank, if I had not pulled it and cleared it, I imagine I would have just kept collecting water.I see another review that mentions the regulator clogged with black grit. Seems to be an on going issue. This should not happen.I would recomend this compressor to anyone not wanting to spend a lot of money. It looked new right out of the box. It works like new. It's a little noisy but Im hard of hearing. take hearing aids out and it's just fine. I'm going on 80 and its heavy for me, so I added a roller stand. It moves around my garage with ease now. You wont be dissapointed. JERRYTried to do go the cheaper route by purchasing a reconditioned compressor of another brand from Tyler Tool. The first one arrived with a cracked compressor housing (and oil everywhere) and the second with a racked chassis. The new Metabo from Amazon arrived in great shape. After adding oil (included), it runs fine. None of these a quiet so no surprises with the Metabo. Rather than lugging this thing around my garage, I've placed it on top of a small furniture dolly (no bigger than the compressor's base) and roll it around. The dolly sells at Harbor Freight for a few dollars. It's a good compressor, the pressure regulator leaked out of the box but I replaced it with one that has a condensation drain, which I had planned on anyway.I am disappointed in Metabo (formerly Hatichi). Their engineering and package contents are very short of being convenient.First, to get an accurate oil level reading with the oil dip stick the air cleaner needs to be removed. The air cleaner obstructs the oil dip stick's removal to the point where I am afraid the dip stick will either break or provide an incorrect reading when tilting it to avoid the air cleaner.Second, the air compressor was supplied with a bottle of oil that was only 1/3rd full - not nearly enough to fill the air compressor.By the way, although the owner's manual doesn't offer the compressor's oil capacity. I measured it to be 6 ounces.Have only aired up two tires as to date. Could not build up any pressure due to regulator leaking out the bleed off hole. I had to remove the regulator and completely disassemble it to clean out all the grit from the internals. Looked like it had been stored in a box full black gritty looking substance. If I was not experienced at this kind of work I would have sent it back, but now I'm happy with it.Bought this Air Compressor in Sept. Used very little, then it locked up. I have called their customer service number over, and over, and over. No one ever picked up or returned my calls. Awful way to treat your customers. Now the 90 day warranty has long expired and my money is wasted on this product. I waited all these months before writing this review hoping someone would contact me.très bel couleur ha haTravail de rénovation generalTravail professionnelTrès utile
